Fortunately, it looks like it should work anyway.  It says &lt;a href="http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Darwin/Reference/ManPages/man3/glob.3.html" rel="nofollow"&gt;here&lt;/a&gt; that glob() lists files in ASCII order by default.  Glob is the "*" in the for loop, so, unless I've missed or misunderstood something (which is entirely possible), the files that match *.jpg will be listed in ascending ASCII order, as required.  This should even apply reliably to NTFS volumes too.  Aren't *NIXes nice?</description>
